Spring is in the air and the cherry blossoms are starting to bloom in Washington, D.C.! The blooming of the cherry trees around the Jefferson Memorial has come to symbolize the natural beauty of our nation's capital city. Hundreds of thousands of city residents and visitors from across the nation and around the world come here to witness the spectacle, hoping that the trees will be at the peak of bloom for the National Cherry Blossom Festival (through April 15th), Washington, D.C.'s rite of spring.

With the coming of spring, we hope that you enjoy the latest edition of our Potomac News Update and encourage you to contact your Brokerage Director for additional sales ideas. And, if you have a chance, be sure to check out the live footage from the Tidal Basin with the National Park Service's Cherry Blossom Cam!

What is sometimes overlooked is that life insurance can also serve an important role in charitable planning. This article will examine two ways in which a life insurance policy can be used to fund a significant charitable gift by naming a charity as a beneficiary of a policy, or by transferring ownership of an existing policy to a charity.
